Padocon + wgsbd

This weekend PPP decided to do something different and participate in two competitions at the same time. As our school semester just started, our team was missing a few people which hurt us a bit, but those who participated in Padocon and wgsbd had a great time!

CSAW Finals 2010

As we mentioned a while ago, PPP was able to qualify two teams for the final round of NYU Poly’s CSAW competition which was held on the last weekend in October.

HUST 2010

This past week we participated in the 9th annual HUST competition, hosted by Hong Ik University in Korea. Unlike most of the competitions in which we participate, all the HUST problems are in Korean only. This posed a unique challenge as many of our members could not actually read the problems without lots of help.

CSAW CTF 2010

This weekend we participated in the annual CSAW CTF hosted by NYU-Poly. PPP actually participated as three separate teams — two teams of four undergraduates, and one team of any one else who was interested (mostly a few grad students). This was the very first competition that a few of our members have participated in, so we were thankful everyone at NYU-Poly made such a fun competition.

RootedCON

Yesterday we participated in the Spanish RootedCON. This CTF was a few web challenges put together by RoMaNSoFt and Dreyer from the awesome Spanish group int3pids. We were very anxious to get back on track now that the school year is up and running. Although only a few of us participated, it was nice to be able to work together on the challenges in person rather than over the internet.

smpCTF 2010

We participated yet another Capture the Flag (CTF) game, called smpCTF  on July 9th for 48 hours. Like Defcon many of our team members were not able to participate because they were on break, but we were only allowed 8 players anyway.

Defcon 18

Back in May we participated in Defcon 18. This is of course the most well known CTF competition around, so we were all pretty excited. At 55 hours, Defcon was also the longest competition we have participated in so far.
